| About Us Mission Statement We truly care about our role as a contractor. We are in this for the long haul. We have been through booms, busts, and slowdowns. We are a hands on builder. We complete all of our own carpentry work, including the two most important aspects of any construction job, the foundation and rough framing. You will find us on site daily, not in an office, during all work hours, including with the electrician, plumber, HVAC and other specialty trades, to answer any questions they may have to keep your project on schedule and on budget. Guiding Principles This is your dream home. We understand the thought, time and detail you have put into making your dream a reality. It is our job to bring this together for you, through our services, so you will have your dream home to enjoy for a lifetime. Ethics We will always conduct ourselves with honesty, fairness, and professionalism. We will never "cut corners" on any project to save money and/or time. We earnestly believe in the importance of quality residential construction, not only for the homeowner, but for their neighborhood, community, and, the country as a whole, since quality built homes have lasting impact and value.

| Company History G & L Construction was formed in 1991. The company name was changed to Building Dreams in 2007. Owner History In 1972, Greg began building with his Dad. They did complete homes, from the ground up. This included excavating, foundations, framing, roofing, insulation, drywall, cabinets, trim, millwork, carpet, linoleum, tile, decks, siding. He did this for over 5 years. For the past several years, Greg has specialized in framing, siding, decks, remodels, and additions. In 1991, Lori's building experience began with G & L Construction. She is the full charge office manager and is also on-site. She stays current with the latest building technologies and keeps Greg informed to the ever changing industry. In Washington, our then 15 year old son, could not actively work with our business due to workers compensation policies so, in 2005, we moved our business from Washington to Idaho so he could learn our trade. Since 2009, we have perforned most of our work in the Seattle/Eastside and the Spokane, Coeur d'Alene/Panhandle region. | |
| We stopped using employees in 2005, other than family members. We simply got tired of fixing, in our mind, substandard workmanship. Our employees work would have passed inspection, but was not to our standard of quality workmanship. From 2005-2008, the latest boom period, we were questioned, many times, by "briefcase" builders. as well as homeowners, of being "not good enough" because we didn't have crews, an office, fancy pick ups, etc. Our answer is the same now as it was then; we don't need a crew-we are the crew, our office is the job site and a fancy pick up does not build your home-we do. We take less time than "crews" to complete your home/construction project, because we are on site, actively working, and we know our trade. We believe these practices have allowed us to survive the biggest housing crisis of anyone's recent memory. We do what we say, we put it in writing, and we build quality, lasting quality, homes. We have many references (verifiable, with building permits issued to their project) to attest to the above statements. Homeowners, now, have their pick of the best contractors to complete their project and we have been steadily chosen, during the latest housing slowdown/bust, as the contractor to complete several remodel/addition jobs, including major second story additions, as well as a few new construction projects, that turned out beautifully. | |
